FAQ
Questions we hear often
How accurate is the view?
The terrain comes from swisstopo's elevation model (2 m grid around the house, coarser further away). Neighbouring buildings come from swissBUILDINGS3D, and their roofs are checked against laser scans of the area – typically within about 10 cm. Trees and vegetation are simplified.
Why does the model look so plain?
On purpose. It is about space, light and view – not tiles and fittings. We add furniture on request so size and use are easy to read. A plain model loads fast, runs on phones and can be updated quickly when the plans change. If you want to show materials, combine it with renderings.
May the example house be built like this?
It keeps to the basic rules of the zone – floor area ratio, heights, distances, roof form – each figure with its article in the building code. Overlays such as building lines, heritage protection or special-use plans we name, but do not examine in detail. So the example replaces neither an architect nor a preliminary enquiry; it shows buyers what is realistic on the land.
Does the example use up the full building rights?
Not necessarily. We choose a house that suits the place and the market, and show next to it how much reserve the zone still leaves. On request we add a second variant that uses the maximum.
Can I link it from Homegate, ImmoScout24 or Newhome?
Yes – the viewer is a normal web link. Use the virtual-tour field where the portal offers one, otherwise the description or your project website. We also provide an embed code.
What do I need to provide?
The architect's IFC model – or, if there is none, floor plans, sections and elevations as DWG or PDF. Plus the parcel number and, if you want them shown, a short description of materials. For building land, the parcel number is enough.
How long does it take?
A single home is usually ready within a week of receiving the plans. Larger developments take a little longer – we agree on a date before we start.
What if the plans change?
One round of changes is included. The link stays the same, so listings don't need to be updated.
Does the viewer reveal the exact location?
The surroundings are real, so people who know the area will recognise it. If you prefer not to publish the address yet, we can start the viewer on the inside views only.
Does it replace renderings?
It complements them. A rendering shows one chosen, painted moment; immovu shows every one – morning light, evening sun, winter – in the real, measured landscape, and also answers the practical questions about view, sun and neighbours that renderings can't.
